Friday Fun-Vintage Style

Hello Everybody!

Happy Black Friday to you!  Are you out there fighting crowds or watching how filled up the mall parking lots are from your cozy living room?  I myself am the latter.  :)  I don't like to go shopping on a Saturday-much less the day after Thanksgiving!

I'd rather be crafting-that's for sure!  Today I am sharing a vintage inspired ornament/tag.  For more details on this be sure to check out my blog here.  I used an old thesaurus for the cones.  It could be an ornament or a tag.  It's about 6 inches tall.

This beautiful snowflake-G512 Winter Snowflake- is from the Great Impressions Online Store.  It's one of many new stamps for December-don't you love it?  I do! :)

The base is round chipboard.  I stamped B171 To & From on the back of the chipboard to turn this into a tag.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Be sure to check out the newest Christmas stamps.  And for more inspiration join us on Facebook and Pinterest! :)

Golden Peace

Hi, friends, and Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the USA!  I'm back today with another holiday card using a gorgeous stamp from the Great Impressions online store.  I kept this clean but elegant and I hope you like it!  Take a peek...

More details on my personal blog HERE.

I LOVE this card.  It turned out more beautifully than I thought it would.  I started by stamping and embossing the image, F462 Dove of Peace, and embossing it in gold.  The shine in real life is amazing!  It was hard to photograph...

I decided that this stamp could stand on its own, so I just added some cream crocheted trim that I weaved ribbon through and a punched paper border.  A few brown rhinestones completed this portion of the card.

I feel that the result is elegant, bordering on shabby chic.  I don't know which one to call it.  What would you call this style?  Leave me a comment and let me know! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my creation!  Hop over to the Great Impressions blog for more inspiration and come play along with our monthly challenge, too!  If you use stamps from Great Impressions, you'll be able to link up your creation in our Customer Gallery, too!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Glow

Hi there! Leah here and I have a pretty Christmas card to share with you today that would be very mail friendly.

I wanted to make some pretty background paper and the Pine Cone Sprig (C31) image is perfect for that! I stamped them all in a dark brown and then went back over with Copics to add color. For my focal image I used the pretty Christmas Lantern (G393) image. I wanted to capture the bit of sparkle I added so my card is a bit tilted :) I like that the sentiment is attached to the image.

Friday Fun with Flamingos!

Hello!

Katy here, and I am using a flamingo stamp today for a Christmas card.  These Christmas flamingos and more can be found at the Great Impressions Online Store!

On Monday my teammate Kendra used pinks, greens, and other nontraditional colors for her Christmas card, and I was totally inspired.  Once I saw the G446 Holiday Flamingos I knew it was meant to be.  I went outside my comfort zone and pulled out the pink and purple papers.  I used colored pencils to color the flamingos.  The sentiment is D378 Merry Christmas Sparkles.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Inner Elf

It's Thursday!  I'm excited to share another new card with you today using new stamps from the Great Impressions online store! :)  This one is super fun and whimsical--with a holiday them.  Come and see...

More details can be found HERE on my personal blog.

Isn't this fun?!  It was quick and easy to make, too.  I started by stamping the elf feet image, E851 Elf Feet, on the top of the main panel.  I colored it in with glitter gel pens for some holiday sparkle.

I then added the sentiment, C475 Inner Elf, underneath the image and separated the two with baker's twine.  A few rhinestones gave just a little more holiday sparkle to the creation.

The last step was to layer this stamped panel onto a dry embossed panel and add the whole thing to a red card base.  The result is a fun, yet clean looking, card that is totally easy to recreate--perfect for your holiday card making!

Cute Christmas Tags

Hello fellow stampers! Leah here today. Have you started your Christmas crafting yet? I've been getting a fair amount done. I like to put special tags on my kids presents so I made these.

I started by die cutting a scalloped circle and then stamping the Scalloped Winter Frame (H217) on it and coloring it with Copics. Then I took the super cute Snowflake Reindeer (F593) and left off the snowflakes stamping just the reindeer. I colored them with Copics as well. I added some jute twine for my tag string and added some Stickles for a bit of sparkle.

Friday Fun with a Vintage Sentiment

Hello Everybody!

Katy here and today I am showing a vintage-inspired Christmas card using a sentiment stamp from the Great Impressions Online Store.

The stamp that I used is D469 Vintage Merry Christmas.  I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and embossed it with gold powder.  After it cooled, I used ink to color the paper.  The carolers are die cuts.

This is such a perfect vintage sentiment!

Wintry Penguin

Hey, everyone!  Happy Thursday!  It's time for me to share another creation using stamps from the Great Impressions store again.  Today I've got a fun and easily mail-able card with a holiday theme.  Take a gander...

More details on my personal blog HERE.

I decided to keep this card CAS and flat so it would be ideal for mailing.  So, all of the stamps are on the same panel!  I've used some newer images paired with an older sentiment.  I started by stamping the snowbanks, G511 Snow Drifts, in a very light blue ink.  I added some glitter to it for some shine.

I then stamped the little penguin, F592 Dancing Penguin, and colored in what needed to be colored with glitter gel pens.  I added some glitter to the little snowflakes above his head, too.  More shine!

Lastly, I stamped an older sentiment, E250 Warmth & Love, in red and highlighted it with red gel pen.

I think the final product turned out better than I though it would!  A mail-able, holiday card, that has lots of shine and holiday spirit thrown into it.  Thoughts?

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my creation!  Hop over to play along with our monthly challenge, too!  If you use stamps from Great Impressions, you'll be able to link up your creation in our Customer Gallery, too!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Wonderful Wednesday with Joni

I love this peaceful scene that I created with some new stamps from Great Impressions.
I embossed the G511 Snow drifts  with white embossing powder.
Then I stamped the G509 Patterned Trees with green ink and neatly trimmed them out.
I popped them out on foam tape.
I added the A117 Merry Hello, also white embossed to the bottom of the card.

Poinsettias

Hi there! Would you believe that I have a poinsettia plant that was given to me right before last Christmas that has bloomed continuously since then? It is a beautiful plant! My card today uses the gorgeous Poinsettia's and Berries ( K40) image and I made my own custom pattern paper with it.

I started by stamping the poinsettia image all over and then coloring them with Copics. Once that was done I went back with a white strip of cardstock and gold heat embossed the Old World Merry Christmas (E739) sentiment. I added some stitching to finish.

Friday Fun with Tweet Christmas Birdies

Hello Everybody!

Katy here, and today I am going to show you a Christmas card using cute little birdies from the Great Impressions Online Store!  :)

For this card I used these stamps:  E815 Swinging Birds, A117 Merry Hello, and A71 Snowflake Cluster.

I stamped the little snowflakes all around the base of the card and on the focal square.  I did stamp the cute birdies twice.  The second I cut out and used it has a mask.  I had a little tag that the sentiment fit on perfectly.  (Which I love this sweet sentiment!)  And I used a glitter glue to outline the tag.

For more inspiration check out our Facebook page and Pinterest Boards.  And be sure to link up to this month's challenge:  Thankful Thoughts.  When you click on that link you will also see the newest Christmas stamps--and they are so cute!  So stock up-and when you spend $25 or more (on U.S. Shipments) shipping is free!

You Make My Life Bright

Well, hello again, friends!  Happy Thursday!  I'm back today with another creation using stamps from the Great Impressions online store and today I've got a fun Asian themed card for your viewing pleasure.  Come and take a peek...

More details can be found HERE on my personal blog.

I started this card by creating the focal panel.  I stamped the image, G362 Chinese Lantern, and selectively colored it with blender pens and ink.  I added some sparkle with a clear glitter gel pen and added centers to the flowers on the lanterns with liquid pearls.

Next, I added the panel to a card base with some fun patterned paper.  I decided to add the sentiment, D399 My Life, as a sort of folded banner to the bottom of the image to anchor the card more.

The final creation is perfect for many occasions!  You could give it to a friend just because, use it for a thank you, or even use it for an anniversary card!  What occasion would you use this card for?

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my creation!  Hop over to play along with our monthly challenge, too!  If you use stamps from Great Impressions, you'll be able to link up your creation in our Customer Gallery, too!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

White Christmas

Hello stamping friends! I hope you are having a great week so far. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you that uses a lot of white with a splash of color.

I started by coloring the lovely Merry Wreath (F344) with Copics and then trimming it out. I then heat embossed in gold the Old World Merry Christmas (E739) sentiment onto vellum and trimmed it out layering it on top of my wreath. Then for a little whimsy I added the cute little Small Chickadee (A122). I embossed my white card layer and added some stitching and tiny pearls. I hope you like it!

Frame Technique

Happy Monday Great Impressions Stamp Friends!

Kendra from Luv 2 Scrap 'n Make Cards here today to share a technique with you!!

So along with loving stamps, we also all love dies!
I am so used to always using dies to cut out my images to use for my cards.

Why not use the negative area for a change?
Instead of always using the intended shape!

Frame It Technique

First, start by collecting your supplies:
Not many needed for this technique!
Stamped image on 4" by 5 1/4" piece of paper, another piece the same size, your die shape you want to work with and masking tape.

Next, stamp your image on one of the pieces of paper (which I already did as seen above).
Color as desired.  I finished mine after I had this technique finished.

Put a piece of masking tape on the top and bottom of the die facing up, just like the cutting edge.
Move it around till you find how you would like it to look.

Place the other piece of cardstock lightly on top.
Run through your die cutting machine.

As seen now, you have created a frame for the stamped image!  As well as having an oval, which you can save to stamp an image on later.

Now you are ready to decorate your card!!

Here is my finished card:
I love how it turned out!

I used the adorable new J114 Magical Snowman!
For the upper left I used the J105 Snowflake Swirl Background and for the lower right I used the A71 Snowflake Cluster to add the perfect touch!!

I used the D397 Winter Wonderland for my sentiment.

Try it for yourself!  Super fun and easy!

You can check out personal blog here.
